1. Accounting policies
Basis of measurement and preparation of accounts
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention, and the income and expenditure account has been adapted from the statutory format to suit the nature of the business. Turnover policy
The company's income is derived from contributions for service charges receivable from the flat owners, and is applied solely towards the promotion of the objects of the company as set out in the Memorandum of Association; no portion thereof is payable by way of dividend, bonus or profit to the members. Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy
Fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation. Depreciation is provided thereon so as to write off the fixed assets over their expected useful lives, the rates used being: Freehold buildings 2% straight line basis Fixtures, fittings and equipment 20% reducing balance basis
