The preparation of these financial statements requires management to make judgements, estimates and |
assumptions that affect the application of policies and reported amounts of assets and liabilities, income and |
expenses. |
Judgements and estimates are continually evaluated and are based on historical experiences and other factors, |
including expectations of future events that are believed to be reasonable under the circumstances. |
TURNOVER |
Turnover comprises members' subscriptions and project income invoiced during the period, excluding Value |
Added Tax. |

FOREIGN CURRENCIES |
Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the |
balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at |
the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result. |
PENSION COSTS AND OTHER POST-RETIREMENT BENEFITS |
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension |
scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate. |
GRANTS RECEIVABLE |
Government grants received in respect of capital expenditure are credited to a deferred income account and are |
released to profit over the expected useful lives of the relevant assets by equal annual instalments. |
Grants of a revenue nature are credited to income so as to match them with the expenditure to which they relate. |

8. | FIRST YEAR ADOPTION |
This is the first set of financial statements prepared by The Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association Limited |
in accordance with the accounting standards issued by the Financial Reporting Council, including FRS 102 "The |
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" ("FRS 102"). The company |
transitioned from previously extant UK GAAP to FRS 102 as at 01 April 2015. There were no adjustments on |
transition. |
