COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT
TANDEM OXFORD CIC
Company Number: 09872296 (England and Wales)
Year Ending: 30 November 2020
Tandem Collective is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that engages and empowers new audiences to tackle environmental and social issues through music and the arts. Tandem also acts as a retail platform for small local businesses, is a space for community projects to collaborate, and is a celebration of international culture. Our projects in the 2019-2020 financial year included Tandem In Your Garden online fundraising festival, Ethno England online workshops and InTandem Publications RISE zine that gives creative voice to environmental issues. In May 2020 we organised an online festival to bring the community together at a very difficult time and raise much needed funds for our enterprise. We hosted over 150 people online.Tandem is a music festival that brings art together with talks and workshops on social and environmental issues – we recreated this online. Tandem Festival focuses on bringing people together and working ‘in tandem’ to inspire new ways of thinking about environmental and social change.Edition 3 of the RISE zine brought people together from across the UK to collaborate on the production of the zine – Not Back to Normal. This gave people a creative outlet during the pandemic and gave them hope to look forward to a better time after the pandemic where we would build back better.
All major decisions are approved by the CIC's Board of Directors, which includes representatives from major stakeholders including as the local music scene, Oxford City Council and Community Action Groups (CAG) Oxfordshire. Moreover, we held a series of online consultations throughout 2020 to bring our community together to think about Tandem’s next steps and produce a new business plan.
