Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The financial statements are presented in sterling which is the functional currency of the company and rounded to the nearest £. |
Turnover |
Turnover is attributed to service charges and registration fees receivable from the shareholders of the company. |
Maintenance reserve |
The company is non profit making and no dividend is payable to members. The company is liable to ensure that certain areas external to the flats and the common parts within the buildings are kept in good repair and decorative order. This includes major redecorative work every few years. The terms of the lease provide that a separate maintenance reserve should be maintained to cover the expected costs and appropriations are made from the profit and loss account for this purpose. |
