For the financial year ended 31 December 2022 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 480 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to dormant companies.

The disclosure requirements of section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view as applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the company. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below.

This company is a qualifying entity for the purposes of FRS 102, being a member of a group where the parent of that group prepares publicly available consolidated financial statements, including this company, which are intended to give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, financial position and profit or loss of the group. The company has therefore taken advantage of exemptions from the following disclosure requirements:

• the requirements of Section 4 Statement of Financial Position paragraph 4.12(a)(iv);

• Section 7 ‘Statement of Cash Flows’: Presentation of a statement of cash flow and related notes and disclosures;

• the requirements of Section 3 Financial Statement Presentation paragraph 3.17(d); and

• Section 33 ‘Related Party Disclosures’: Compensation for key management personnel.

The financial statements of the company are consolidated in the financial statements of Highland Fuels (Investments) Limited. These consolidated financial statements are available from its registered office, Union Plaza, 1 Union Wynd, Aberdeen, AB10 1DQ.

Thames Petroleum (Scotland) Limited has entered into guarantee in respect of each company's indebtedness to the Royal Bank of Scotland Plc.

Highland Fuels Limited and Thames Petroleum (Scotland) Limited have entered into cross guarantees in respect of each company's indebtedness to Royal Bank of Scotland Finance Limited.

The immediate parent company is Highland Fuels Limited, a company registered in Scotland.

The ultimate parent company undertaking and controlling party is Highland Fuels (Investments) Limited, a company registered in Scotland.

The ultimate controlling party is G G M Shand.

Highland Fuels Limited is the parent undertaking of the smallest group, of which Thames Petroleum (Scotland) Limited is a member, and for which group the financial statements are drawn up.

Highland Fuels (Investments) Limited is the parent undertaking of the largest group, of which Thames Petroleum (Scotland) Limited is a member, and for which group financial statements are drawn up.
