The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008).
Turnover
Turnover, which excludes Value Added Tax, represents the invoice value of goods and services supplied.
Leasing and hire purchase
The cost of assets held under finance leases and hire purchase agreements is included
under tangible assets, and depreciation is provided in accordance with the company's accounting policy for the class of asset concerned. Interest calculated on the reducing balance basis is charged as interest payable over the period of the lease or hire purchase agreement, and the capital element of future payments is included in creditors.Pensions
The company operates defined contribution pension schemes and makes contributions to personal pension plans for some employees. The cost of contributions is charged to the Profit & Loss Account in the year in which they fall due.
