Basis of preparing the financial statements
Due to considerable investment in the development of new software products, at the year end the company shows a negative Balance Sheet position. At present the company relies upon the financial support of its director which he has guaranteed will continue for the forthcoming year. In the director's opinion it is appropriate to prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis.
Patent and trade marks
Amortisation is provided at the annual rate of 20% on cost in order to write off the asset over its estimated useful life.
Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Foreign currencies
Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result.
Turnover
Turnover represent net invoiced sales of goods and services arising from the company's principal activity, excluding value added tax. The income from licence fees is released over the term of the contract.
