1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements
The accounts have been prepared on a going concern basis as the company continues to have the support of the
Directors.

Accounting convention
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January 2015).

Turnover
Turnover represents rental income due from the letting of freehold property, net of VAT.

Depreciation
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful
life.

Freehold Land Nil
Freehold Buildings 4% on cost

Basis of consolidation
The financial statements present information about the company as an individual undertaking and not about its
group. The company and its subsidiary undertaking, Calverts (Taunton) Limited, comprise a small-sized group.
The company has therefore taken advantage of the exemptions provided by section 399 of the Companies Act
2006 not to prepare group accounts.

Fixed asset investment
Unlisted fixed asset investments are stated at cost less provision for any diminution in value.
